Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is a renowned American politician and a prominent member of the Republican Party.
Ros-Lehtinen earned her Bachelor's in Education from Florida International University, a Master's in Education Leadership from the same institution, and a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Miami.
In 1982, Ros-Lehtinen entered politics as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, where she served until 1986. Subsequently, she was elected to the Florida State Senate from 1987 to 1989.
In 1989, Ros-Lehtinen made history as the first Cuban-American woman elected to the US House of Representatives, representing Florida's 18th congressional district.
